The Best Words

The Best Words

A Poem by Robert J. Huntley

The best words wash over the page
again and again
no matter the pen
or guiding hand

The best words are ghosts
haunting the house of truth
with low moaning lies
that make the weak tremble

The best words are clear
and strongly wrapped
forever in the sinews of youth
holding on to something better

After all
the best words are
on
and on

About
