I love to see you in loveA Poem by Paul
Your voice was out of breadth, your cheeks were flushed red;
Stammering for words you rushed up to me. I could feel that you were lovestruck; I could see cupid working his magic upon you. Sensing your anxiety I calmed you down, 'Relax, girl. Tell me everything', i said. 'I am in love', you replied, looking at me, pausing for breath; waiting for me to act surprised. I pretended to be surprised, just for your sake. Pretend, that's what i am good at; Pretending to never love you; Pretending that the love you have for him, was never mine to begin with. 'He proposed and i said yes', you were muttering frantically; Yes, those were your exact words; and i pretended to be happy. I lie to my heart, I lie to my emotions; I may suffer in hell for this, or worse; I may see you up there at the altar with him; while i pretend to love see you in love; with someone else. © 2016 PaulFeatured Review
