A Sonnet for Kay

A Sonnet for Kay

A Poem by BMorrill

Like flowers wilted in the sun
She shrinks to half her size
And though the day has just begun
Bags build under her eyes

I tell her of her beauty still
And dance in her storms of rain
Leave her side I never will
Even if she sinks in her pain

For friends are not meant for cheer
For days of laughs and glee
But for days of sorrow and fear
In darkness I will never flee

For my friend, my love will stay
Even on her darkest day
