I signed up for the Little Rock Writing Project with the intentions of integrating literacy into my art curriculum. In my mind, I imagined how to teach students more grammatical and systematic writing. However, my mindset has changed significantly. Prior to beginning the Little Rock Writing Project, we were asked to read The 9 Rights of Writers by Viki Spandel. I began to understand that I should emphasize writing as a form of expression rather than the structure of writing.
