musing for no reasonA by BIQsee titleThoughts because I can.
The other day heading back from Sydney I was accosted by a gentleman who obviously believed very strongly in what he was saying...
He was telling me of the holy cross and jesus and love.
I am all for Love and life etc - however there are several issues I have with religion and a cross and a power of one.
1.) If a god created us why would he give us this gift of thought and logic? If we weren't to use it? it doesn't make sense.
2.) if (as i believe may be the reason that many would give) it is a test of our blind faith, is this test of blind faith not flying in the face of our normally considered beliefs and ideals? would this not mean 'god' either intended this to happen (in which case he would be the enemy of logic - which he instiled in us as a virtue) or that he produced an unitended affect, in which case, he is incomptent?
This gentleman wanders the blue mountains line trains and if anyone sees him, chat to him (I am not sure whether he is clinically insane or not) - it is interesting... if only as an observation exercise...
he put his arms around me and asked me when the last time somebody did thta to me and called me their brother.
I replied "yesterday"
he said I was "lucky"
He asked what he did it for, I said "he was tripping on speed and vomiting and drooling on me"
this quietened him.
Especially when it was revealed to him this same gentleman was later arrested....
he promptly removed his arms....
His 'faith' wasnt storng enough - logic ruled.
there is hope ladies and gentlemen.
