WEEP NOT MY CHILD

WEEP NOT MY CHILD

A Poem by Titilayo Sarah Eguridu
"

ENCOURAGING

"
Weep not my child
Shed no more tears
I am familiar with the piercing pain of the heart
I know how the heart unleashes the full force of it’s ammunition on your mind
Your heart wrenching sobs tears my heart into tattered pieces

Weep no more my child
Your haunted eyes tells the story of what you have seen  and where you have been

Weep not my child,
Take this wisdom with you.
Eat it, digest it and keep it safe in the vault of your heart
Never store timeless wisdom with your left hand
because  you’re right handed,
You’re sure to throw it away.
Receive this timeless wisdom I’m about to share , with your right hand
...it will surely be safe
“ Hate and love are the flip side of the same coin”
One person can engage both emotions.

It is, what it is.
Stay vigilant,
Stay safe.

This is apparently a parent trying to comfort a child who has been hurt in a relationship. The older woman uses all of her wisdom and experience to help the younger one move beyond the initial pain. She builds up gradually to one sage piece of advice: Hate and love are the flip sides of the same coin. Anyone can do either. She follows what protest might follow such truth with another piece of stone: It is what it is. And that's the truth.

This is a very encouraging write. I like the repetitive encouragement and endearment. I also the left hand and right was a interesting way of putting it. Tyfs
