in ten years from now

in ten years from now

A Poem by BHlives87
"

perception of growing older

"
awake at dawn
slam the snooze
put on your shoes

glance at the mirror
feel a twinge inside
when you realize
its not you looking back

you were once young
that time has past
now you got the IRS on your a*s

what happened to the college fun?
the future seemed so bright
back then
in the bar's neon lights

youthful enthusiasm never goes out in a flame
it slips away
with each grown up decision made.

I love this. It's short, sweet, and flows very nicely. =) Great job capturing the slow fading that is getting older, and the shock when you realize just how quickly time has passed! ^_^
