Death on Her Wings

Death on Her Wings

A Poem by BHZolo

Death on Her Wings

I Awoke with the failing moon
calm filling the evening air
and memories of you, flood me still

I held you for a time
and in my arms, you were mine
being the comfort from your pain

Our journey's stopped at the crossroads
and now we must continue on separate ways
But, sweeter still is the love that was lost

I pull back the veil of mystery
not knowing what may stand before me
and I stare at the boy who is now a man.
