something about me

a monster 
built from hate 
betrayal and lies

it waits 
in the shallows of my mind 
inching closer to birth

his will is not my own 
the beast that tears this flesh 
the scars that tell our struggles

i have won another battle
locked away another day 
to where the darkness slumbers
