Night Drive

Night Drive

A Poem by Brad

Sounds of wind and road coalesce into a formless music

Trees loom on either side, a darker black-on-black against the night sky

The world is shrunken, reduced to what the headlights reveal

I am in no hurry

I am free

Ah, the open road, at night when the world isn't so large anymore. The windows or the top is down and sounds of rubber against asphalt and the wind rushing by the ears. There's no one to smile at but the trees passing by seeming to wave. The open road, a freedom like no other. Beautiful.
