If i were a millionaire

If i were a millionaire

A Poem by W. B. G. Schreiber

Oh to think that I were a millionaire,

And could be with you, whose skin is so fair.

Life would be complete, I’d have all I need,

Be with me my love, please don’t make me plead.

I would buy you all that money could get,

Houses, pearls, diamonds, rings, your choice of pet,

I would buy you it all, as my heart beats,

And if you it suits you better, perhaps sweets.

Money cannot buy happiness my love,

That is why I need you all things above.

Oh please my sweetest love deny me not,

Do remember I could buy you a yacht.

Very interesting ideas about money and love. I really liked it. Though at times the rhymes made the Poem difficult to understand. Over all Nice job.

interesting perspective. The eighth line bothers me a little.. Did you mean, and if it suits you better, perhaps sweets? I do like the second line in the last stanza. To put your love above all those things that you could buy her shows that you really value her as a person.
