The moon and the stars

The moon and the stars

A Poem by BETHUEL TJEBANE

My dreams of hitting stars are diving deep into the ocean.
Reality striking hard and it got my tears in motion.
My hunger for success abating like the sunshine at sundown.
My wish of widening my horizons like disseminating fireworks is about to shut down.

I'm gasping for air,
For the mountain is too steep to speel.
I wouldn't dare
Surrender even if the "SAPS" compelled me to squeal.

The route to my finish line
Might be shorter than a vine,
Or it might take me decades to reach my destination.
I don't know, it's just an estimation.

Trials and tribulations standstill in my way.
Trials and tribulations, but still i pray.
Reality tryna confute my aspirations.
Poverty tryna compute my aspirations.

Rich or poor, my dreams are pervaded by the moon and the stars.
