I'm sorry

I'm sorry

A Poem by BETHUEL TJEBANE
"

a soul wallows in shame

"
Mama le Papa, I'm sorry.
I wanna tell but it's a long story.
And it breaks me into pieces.
But you'll get why I was friendly with my nieces.

I don't know if you'll still be proud.
Truth is I stand out in the crowd.
It's only because I'm not a regular.
I don't know how to put it but it's secular.

I'm sorry that I let you down.
But it also breaks me down.
I'm all smiles but deep down I'm broken.
I'm sorry that you'll go to the grave with this token.

I'm no stranger to insults and hate.
I tried fighting it but I guess it's my fate.
I'm a "weakling" because of my submissive role.
There you have it, inside I'm an ashamed soul.
