Promise

Promise

A Poem by Bhumika Devkota

A promise to never hold back,

To laugh, to cry, to live life.

And be joyful no matter what.

A promise is made,

But like a glass, it shatters.

Pieces and pieces

Never going back to the original

A smiling face,

And eyes full of life disappears,

Into a corner of a empty room

Doors close and the key is locked in.

A promise was made,

To never hold back, to laugh, to cry,

And to live life.

But like everything else,

It disappears into the hidden corners,

Into the shadows, out of reach to anyone.

Thank you!
There is so much truth to what you're saying, promises are hard to keep and can be irreparable to break.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your review!
I feel like this should be a poem i read when making my New Year resolutions! Jokes aside, it's a great piece, just delightful, like a cookie put in text. I really like cookies, but I love your poem.
