This short poem speaks to me of safe places. Places where we can go and think what we want to think without the judgement of others. My safe place is in my mind. That’s where I have freedom. All to much these days I see freedom of expression being watered down or cancelled altogether. This is probably not what you intended with this poem but it is where I drifted. Thanks for the friend request.
On second reading, I think of my garden. That place is where I find peace.

Interesting, the idea of being caught unaware... the ending is very solid, really pulls out the theme, a good contrast to the opening image of being in a room designed for the very thing not being done. A lot of power packed into a very short piece, good brutal imagery.

Thank you sir. I am appreciative of your assessment. Heartened
I have a quiet corner of my mind where I go to visit mum, to talk things through in my mind, to unburden that which weighs too heavy on the heart.
Big boys don't cry....hogwash:)

Wow, thank you for this share; how you personally relate to this poem. I am honored.
a warm place can also be a safe place...where you can speak without judgement....where you can be free to think...where you can cry if you so desire...privacy is most important, especially when you are feeling a bit down...no one can witness all that you have on your mind ....alone and free to contemplate
Well thought out and well written
Warmly, B

Subtle, in the lines...I see you use the formation of your words to dictate the pace of its intent...the beginning gives the reader a projection of mood, then you carry us thru your lines...to the very end...as the one who is actually the person in its wake...

I like your choice of words and the way you crafted them to make the poem rhyme smoothly. I can sense that you pump a lot of your creative imagination to craft such a beautiful piece.

beyond deep. i often feel that people laugh because they can't cry. churches and barrooms are crying rooms. being real and true to self and a higher power is highly underrated. i used to go a park by an inlet to think, face up and do my reckoning whilst alcoholics drank nearby. interesting idea about god but i think we get the whole enchilada no matter. life isn't a drive-thru for happy meals.
