0. PrologueA Chapter by B30Officer Brink confronts Khail about his killing of Zyler.Khail's footsteps quickened as he stormed around his office. Blue wardrobes and darkened carpets encapsulated his worrying stance about the killing of Zyler Conor Devlin. Officer Brink burst through the room windows, dressed in black coats, a hat the colour of a wolf and his pressure intense in delivering the news to Khail. "Good news. I expect good news. Sit officer Brink." Khail instructed, his palms sweaty and nerves wrecking. Brink couldn't say a word after the commands Khail had said to him, but he wishes that he would expect that Khail was expecting as well. "I'm not sure if I have good news Khail." "What do you mean?" Khail slammed the desks of his Empire room, covering his face, his distressed personality could not be concealed. "I have good news and bad news. Choose." Khail thought for a moment, standing up once more and his thoughts brought about in clout. "I want the good news. Tell me that is one hell of a good one." Brink smiled at Khail's choice. "Our trained snipers were unable to take down Zyler. All I can say is we did manage to shoot Zyler in the thighs, so he was not able to escape far. He managed to pull tricks on us but I'm sure we'll be able to catch him." Khail wondered at the information. "The bad news?" Brink stood up as he approached Khail, standing face to face. Their eyes did not meet, for Brink's hark mask covered his entire face. He pulled out a knife as he stabbed Khail in the ribs, the worrisome face finally revealed. "You did not know who I was. You did not see who I am. You thought I was trusted. You were wrong." Brink led Khail drop to the floor as he hung in demise of his killer that carried a golden mask. "Khail. You never questioned me, nor asked me about my name, only knowing me carrying the alias Brink. You trusted me too much to know that you should be wrong." "Who are you?!" Khail thundered, his Empire room shook but no help was offered. Brink took off his mask as Khail eyed in awe; Zyler was the figure behind it. "Zyler? Zyler?! How can this be?!" Zyler bent as he faced his former boss. "I forgot to tell you the bad news Khail; there was no good news, nor officer Brink. It's all a lie. I'm sorry to regret you that I, Zyler, has been released and no longer will be working for the Strike Republic. Find your own alliances and your own assassins Khail. I'm out." "You cannot! Zyler, you cannot leave Strike! I will find you and I will hunt you down! I will kill you!" Khail's voice screeched as Zyler made way to the door. "You couldn't." Zyler turned to look at Khail as he stayed down on the floor, blood oozing from the cut as Khail held it in his hands. "Strike Republic's former assassins were never killed, never disposed nor destroyed. Those were lies by you Khail. I'm not it. If you can find me, then you can kill me. Goodbye Khail." Zyler left through the windows as the winds struck. Khail breathed hard as he grasped the corner of the table getting himself up. He could not believe the turnaround that had just happened, believing that it was still a lie. "Guards," Khail talked to the security through his phone. "Find Zyler. Take him to me, alive." Khail's loss of blood was still relentless as he tumbled to the floor, emergency alarms spreading through the entire building. Zyler watched from afar the Empire building in the United States.
