The Rebirth

The Rebirth

A Poem by B-poet

It was the breaking of a generational curse

We often chose to rehearse

Since what we’ve inherited

As ourselves

Was not by choice

Or voiced by discretion

Since these given graces can be questioned

In a sense of which direction

Will the wind of fate blow

On the epitaphs lying

From within the depths of our souls

As time runs out on who we once were

The stages of life commence

With warnings

Inception

Brought forth

A rare ink cast this branded headline

In our minds

“Who were yesterday

Is not the person we are today”

Sets up acts for this soulful journey

On the potential grand stage

Of our lives lies a play showcasing

The Rebirth of who we chose to become

Destines our final act’s standing ovation
