Self-Sacrificing For A Future Harvest

Self-Sacrificing For A Future Harvest

A Poem by B-poet

Self-Sacrificing For A Future Harvest

Is often

Hard to digest

During the heat

Of any

Lasting & challenging ordeal

It's often seen

As a real

Trail of worthiness

That's meant

To be overcome

Inside the mind's

Of all participants

Momentarily

Lies a dawning question

Ultimately asking...

What's left

To inherit

Once merit

Has quenched the temporary thirst

Of every go-getter

During their own season's

Thorny harvest...

Only time will invest

It's correct

Trivial answer

In the next future segment

Stay tuned...

A slice of food for thought, in your signature style. Nicely done, BP.

Perhaps there is something arrogant in the act of self-sacrifice, just as much as running from it...great piece B, you should indeed be proud of it :)

Hmmm, what's left to inherit?
Good question! I don't know.
Once we've reached the top...
Do we become mentors, teachers?
Let me ponder this...
