The Sweet Taste Of Friday

The Sweet Taste Of Friday

A Poem by B-poet

Making it through

A hectic week of personal forefeitures

We've all watched the week unfold

Beyond the measure of our expectations

We must console

Every soul

So they can only witness

On a near weekending day

A better version of themselves

Living like they're recurring dream

Towards happiness

Is destined to be while acquiring

The Sweet Taste Of Friday

Should mean more to them

Rather than living a boring life

That's existant

The sweet taste of Friday...love it! You have hit the nail on the head with this one. People must savor the sweetness in life and not allow themselves to be pulled into a "Groundhog Day" delerium where life just keeps repeating itself over and over and over and...you get the idea. Nicely written...

This was the perfect day for me to read this piece! Thank you, this is the blessing of having this site to be able to read splendid works and be encouraged! Thank you for the insight ..."We must console/every soul"
Beautiful the concept, the flow really well done. I will read it several more times for tomorrow is Friday!

Friday is delicious, no doubt about that haha I don't know where you wrote it but I could imagine it being written on a bus or some other social environment...it has the feel of an everyday person's take on the proverbial rat race...definite food for thought (no pun intended haha) Nicely done :)

love how you play with words here! like 'console' and 'soul' as well as 'weeking day' are very cool! the last few lines could use some fleshing out but great write over all; i can definitely relate.

I like this one. People should live for more than a recurring dream! But man do we love our Friday's :)

"On a near weeking day"

Something about this particular line and the wording of it.. It actually made me smile. Perhaps the old fashioned aspect of it.

We share a smile with those who are receptive and understand it is given in goodness and we move on to the weekend, letting the events of the past days just roll away like a tumbleweed in the wind. After-all, next week is just around the corner. :)
