Cherish What You Have

Cherish What You Have

A Poem by B-poet

Cherish What You Have

You never know

When and if the next day

Will be your very last

Hug your loved ones

Who're closest to you

Appreciate and nurture their presence

Leaving no clue for ambivalence

As remotely as if

They've disappeared permanently from plain view

How would you deal

With this formality at hand?

Many have already

Become accustomed to this notion

Tried and true

Life is such a momentary gift

Full of joy and virtue

As breathtaking as a rose with thorns

Colored red instead of blue

Cherish What You Have

Because the unknown is what shapes the future

I think you mean "closest" instead of "closet". Again, your choice of an abstract topic is what hold the reader and keeps us in awe until the last line. Not hunting for things far afield, but the truest of joys can be found right at our own doorsteps.

The unkown is what shapes the future....I love the truth in this line. This one felt a little choppy for me, but I still liked its message. Cherrish what you have. I can tell you from experience it's not just a cliche. Overall this was a good read, its has passion and strong presence.

Like it. We should cherish what we have today because life is too short. We should enjoy what we have and live with contentment. :)

Now this is a most lovely philosophy full of truth. No matter how long or short their time in our lives, it is never enough.
