I like it. It does at time feel like our work is "graduating" or particpating some ceremony. The first time I was called to a reading it felt like I was taking part in my actual graduation, even though we were all gathered in a stuffy old library. I like the playful tone of this and the creativity that went into it.

Interesting idea for a poem. I remember going to my first public poetry reading in college, and I too mused about what must have been going through this poet's mind as he read his work. He seemed completely at ease, not a single word out of place, and I thought to myself "I could never do that!". Crazy... I liked this one.

I always wondered what runs through a poet's head before a public reading, or the collective anticipation of a crowd about to hear it...I'm not sure if this is where you were going with this piece but it's the vibe I go...well-written in any event :)
