Embracing Love's Forgotten Companion (Original)

Embracing Love's Forgotten Companion (Original)

A Poem by B-poet

Love was taking a journey

With two heart beats

Uniting as one

In harmony as symbolism

Regarding a potential blissful

Future matrimony

Riding with each another

In a horse carriage

Reading Just Married

Remained the hopeful

Vision of the bride to be

As it coincided with

The groom's infatuation for his fiance's

Deep seeded adoring beauty

Within her inner heart's locket

While yearning for her beloved

To find the key

Unlocking a romantic door

Hidden within the purity of her complexion

Almost fulfilling his obligation

In relation to their future wedding destiny

While being tenderheartedly soft spoken

So he

Would be committed to her forever

Moreover a devotion

For the aura of her vanity

Had yet to be

Embraced as Love's Forgotten Companion

This vital part of their loving chemistry

Would be needed

In order for the groom's “I do

To eliminate his cold feet issue

As the ceremony commenced

That fateful moment

Happened in an instant

He looked at her

She looked at him

He was frozen

As he stared at the priest

Then again to her with ease

He said “I do

Remembering in the back of his mind

He had to kiss his bride

While Embracing Love's Forgotten Companion

Now became his constant devotion

Towards his new and lovely wife

I could feel the nervous emotion in this one...the story like quality was also really good. At first blush, I felt as though this was a bit long and drawn out, but then again, the idea is one of slowly drawing out a moment--a single moment that seems as though it lasts a lifetime. So I'm on the fence. I do think you could possibly cut this one down slightly, but I wouldn't get rid of the length all together, because I feel like it goes with the idea of the piece. Overall, I enjoyed the read.

This was quite heartwarming and the nervousness of your groom brought a genuine smile.
Lovely work on this. :)
