Lost Innocence

Lost Innocence

A Poem by B-poet

What ever happened

To the carefree times

Regarding the essence

Of our innocent lives

To date

Has the weight of the world

Turned everyone callous

Overprotective from savages

Or is it just

A sign of the times

Where an unknown destiny

For our own lives

Is in disguise as

Our Lost Innocence

I think I enjoy your writes so much, because light or dark.. There is lyrical woven in. A natural song writer.. I wonder if eventually these types of pieces will make the shift over to such.

Always you seem to gather the thoughts of many around you and arrange it in a way that speaks back.
Another extremely good write. :)

You do a terrific job of hitting to current societal topics that plague us. With a short write, there is a great deal to contemplate within each line. Technology has provided many advantages. However, I feel it as also been a driving factor in the 'lost innocence' your poem highlights. Raising children in this climate is a challenge. Our cautions concerning the dangers, and the flip side - lack of supervision, steals that innocence earlier than generations past.
An intriguing topic, written well.
