Beware of the Black Heart Epidemic (Diagnosis #2)

Beware of the Black Heart Epidemic (Diagnosis #2)

A Poem by B-poet

Giving light and hope

New meaning

For curing an epidemic

Now brewing beneath the surface

Of heavy hearts

Stuck in desolation

Where these social counterparts

Are prudent towards

Evident events

Of success-fulness

Amongst others

They're not being included in

Themselves apparently

For some reason

There's a widespread symptom

Inherently called enviousness

A vital part of acquiring

The Black Heart Epidemic

It stems from weariness and tiredness

Of seeing bystanders thriving

Yet the envious

Are stuck in a time warp

Harping about everyone else's

Proposed downfall

They're desiring to sit back

Conspire to set up and stack

Gossip Dominoes

Attacking the credibility of anyone

And everyone else who wants

To be concerned with

Aiding their cause for

Wanting to push them over

Catering towards the sake of

Raining on everyone else's

Victory parade with envy

Because they can't experience

The true joy of living happily

Beware of The Black Heart Epidemic

It's a very real diagnosis

Affecting numerous hearts

Pertaining particularly to the socially envious

Really cool poem! Loved it! :)

The concept is great. I enjoyed how you gave it all a name, The Black Heart Epidemic.
Today, right before I read this, I saw this quote while searching, "If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present." -Lao Tzu.
Your idea is parallel to that quote I think, and I find it pleasant and I feel hopeful when I read poetry like this. I also find your "enviousness" characteristic intriguing because it has so many effects on the human mind and contributes to numerous negative behaviors.
I know that there is so much more that hasn't been outlined in this one, presuming the course you're on; so I look forward to reading more diagnostic poems. Good work.
