Beware of the Black Heart Epidemic (Diagnosis #1)

Beware of the Black Heart Epidemic (Diagnosis #1)

A Poem by B-poet

Beware of acquiring a Black Heart

As your making it through the valley

Of the unknown disenchanted parts of obscurity

Where social counterparts

Are in awe of what's taking shape

Behind the scenes of your livelihood’s mandate

Not being fine with it occurring during its prime

Sparks the negative energy

Embodied as jealous smirks

Resenting your success

Fuels the diagnosis

For Black Heart Epidemic

Rolling your eyes and turning your back

On the jealous conspirators of your fortune

Decisively inherited

Through hard work, sweat, and desire

Fuels the fire for the flame of envy

While others have yet to find

Their niche in society or real life

The Black Heart Epidemic stems from

Winning a despised prize

Created within the depths of envious subconscious minds

Who never will cherish the presence

Of good heart-ed people

Who are choosing not to live a lie

They've only chosen to live their true lives

Without any alibi's tied to warrented suspicion

From fabricated success deviated from calumny connotation

I feel like this poem talks both about the jealous individuals and the people they are jealous of. I've been on both sides and it very tempting to become cold and uncaring. Enough jealous people- and it becomes difficult not to assume everyone is that way. And as for the jealous themselves... they can also be consumed with wanting what someone else has, their heart can also become black.

Not sure what you were trying to say here, but I like your usage of descriptive words...black heart epidemic -- people without a heart, people who don't care? Is that what it means?
