If Time Stopped

If Time Stopped

A Poem by B-poet

If time could suddenly stop

What would you truly ask for

Within the backdrop

Of your stage presence in life

Would it be a more fullfilling purpose

Supplied by the energy

Needed for its manifestation

Or would it be a change in social status

Befriending lavish habits

Of your heart's desires

Or would it be the implementation of common sense

In the minds of senseless

Thinking people

Living savagely

Just for their mere survival

So many questions

Yet not enough

Answers to rectify ambivalence

For becoming a apart

Of a rare and significant moment in history

For the sake of peaceful relations amongst

All human faces globally

If time just suddenly stopped

Would contingency be the key

For unlocking the door for what could possibly be

Unlimited destined potential

Within every living being

I guess will just have to see

When time abruptly stops ticking

Gets us thinking. Really like these lines: If time just suddenly stopped would contingency be the key for unlocking the door for what could possibly be unlimited destined potential within every living being. I guess will just have to see when time abruptly stops ticking. Great poem.

Within the backdrop

Of your stage presence in life.........my favorite lines. Line 11 should be heart's. Correct the word survival. Otherwise, the poem flows and has a deepness not too many poets can exude. I admire the deep though provocation this poem offers and how I am left thinking on the entire piece.

"If time just suddenly stopped
Would contingency be the key
For unlocking the door for what could possibly be
Unlimited destined potential"
Love this part (: And your poem really got me thinking "What if time stopped?" So many possibilities, like you said. I really enjoyed this.

Ahhh, but if time stopped would we not stop within it?

I enjoyed the progression of this piece and the questions and thoughts it raised. Very nice work. :)

Great subject matter. We ask ourselves these types of questions when faced with serious health issues, or realize the hour glass of life is heavier at the bottom than the top. Very reflective and thought provoking write. Well done, B.

That is a great poetic subject and you have written it masterfully!
Although you may want to re-visit this line: "Some many questions"..
So many would do....
Rest assured, your poem is very deep in the metaphorical sense of the word and you deserve appreciation for it....
Thank you for sharing!
