There's no real way

To describe a poet's best friend

Who's forever defined as

A true comforter

During the loneliest of times

With the evidence of rhyme or reason

During each and every season of a poet's life

It's advocating demeanor

Turns skeptics into believers

With no gender affiliation

Forever lighting the ever-changing diction candle

Of the essence

Regarding a poet's vocal eternal flame

From within

Its contrasting influence

Is why a star's talent shines brightly as

The formality of a kindred spirit

Brings a poet peace and solace

When the world appears to be distant and incomprehensible

During writing periods

Where no real social connections exist

With a poet's evolving spirit of penmanship

It's good to know

A loyal decisive guardian is present

For protecting the elements 

Representing a poet's literary self expression

Forever obtaining equity

In the department of camaraderie

During times of emotional upheaval

Till the very end of a poet's living journey

Into the turbulences of life's

Questionable duration period

For each and every human being

Now, this I like very much. A depth of emotion is evident, felt - yet, there is a touch of calming recitation throughout. I can see this being read aloud to a classroom of aspiring creative writing students as an opener to study of Keats, Shakespeare, Dickens, etc. to envelop them in the creative spirit. A very well written piece.
