Life's Perpetual Race

Life's Perpetual Race

A Poem by B-poet

In the never ending race of life

Keeping pace

With a golden piton

Within the gaps of each pulse line

Of a runner's beating heart

On an EKG meter

Seen as a track lap amongst

Silent partners and sponsors

Are long stretches

Where my real teammates

Will emerge from the shadows at night

For my cause

In the daylight they're a mystifying mirage

Coming forthright

As I lunge and extend the written reason

A creed representing purposeful relations

Is why I belong

Amongst the inhabitants of a world

That's getting better in the long run

Even though wrongs must exist

To balance the need for a social equilibrium

A hopeful piece but firm in its appraisal of the future...the need for balance is unsettling in light of the injustice it brings but without it there can no sense of good...you've captured these thoughts uniquely and imaginatively here...nice work :)

Your write places the striving of life in a great visualization of the racetrack.
I enjoyed the comparison. The conclusion I must take issue with. This world is full of evil not as a balance of good, but as a result of evil intentions and a final battle between good and evil. Wrongs need never exist, and one day, they will not.
However, your philosophic point is one shared by many and hints of the yin/yang of life.
A fine write dear poet.
