Unshakable Purgatory

Unshakable Purgatory

A Poem by B-poet

Continued effort

To change the past that has occurred

Realities grip maintained

It’s clutches on my wrists and ankles

Halting my progress

While being entangled in a web of what could have been

The jealous social quicksand

Beneath my stance

Has me

Stuck between where I am

And where I want to be

It’s intriguing to see

Why the socialites try to weaken my credibility

While I’m expanding my horizons

Stretching to save face

Inside the suppressing social fortress

This place of displaced interest

Is where I’ve plotted my quest

To break the mold

Into a new era

Looking for a congregation

With open arms

To support my endeavors

Yet the mutual revelation

I’ve considered to share

Has been hard to get across

When combating the misconceptions of lost hearts and ears

While being confined within

The dimensions of an unshakable purgatory

This poet is frustrated yet has a high level of patience.. (salute). Today this seemed fitting for me to read. Though I do not feel exactly the same..the essence of the poem is renowned to me. Thanks for sharing this. Through experiences we become hopeful for adaptation and growth. Congratulations to whatever has caused your mind to evolve to this way of thinking and being. Keep writing.

Wow, this is great...some really neat wordplay throughout, like "place of displaced interest" and "expanding my horizons/stretching to save face" Keep up the good work :)

Excellent write of free verse! I would hope that everyone cannot relate to the pain and anguish that resonates from this poem. However, I do understand the feelings expressed so well. Each of us has such burdens. Even as I count my blessings, and am thankful for so much, I shall forever miss someone so dear to me that it pains me daily.

Wonderful write.
