Burn Victims (2)

Burn Victims (2)

A Poem by Azriel
"

the follow up to 'Bite Marks'...

"

Years have passed us by,

But I still feel the old wounds you left in me,

Yes, I still see the marks and the scars
Where your teeth sank in and pulled apart my flesh;

 In the process ripping apart my crafty disguise,

Yes, I still remember those days.

You burnt us all,

And buried us underneath your desolate arms of affection and love
Bringing us down with you to hell’s floor.
These memories however,
are fading with each and every passing night

(Or so I’d like to believe)

But your bite marks have still remained on me.
You robbed us of our home
And cast us into your own hell,
But it's quite alright

Because we found the ladder that led us to a place of solace;

 A hospital for souls

And although they might no longer have those deadly wounds,
Somehow they still sink into me
Each and every night,
Plaguing every dream I conjure up

Forcing me back down to the pit

Where I continue to be burned oh so consistently.

~ wow... this is a very powerful and poignant piece of writing... that last stanza is particularly overwhelming... i've been in those dungeons of despair... and to tell you the truth, i have lapsed into a cycle of lucid dreaming and have slowly been working my way out of it... ~ the more i write and express my pain, the less intense my nightmares become... dealing with excruciating experiences is very tough... ~ more importantly, this is excellent work...

Love it. Ladder that led us to a place of solace, a hospital for souls. Great words there. I can see your internal wounds healing just by your words. Even though the struggle is hard you are healing. Your words make me sad and happy. How is that possible? I await part three.
