A Poem by Nina Rose

“She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.~ She stands... unrecognized by them… Unconscious  herself of her fantastic power.”

-Lolita

He was stronger than light waves in the sunlight in Spring time walking on the  water- was her passion.

He bent lightning bugs in the air her eyes  always shined brighter than the bugs.

Her beauty matched the souls of those who haven’t came to be. The ones who haven’t even taken a single step out on the ground.

He watched her like he was ready to take a bite. Her hair shines like golden waves of flaxen.

She was spit fire- in times of need he held her hand quickly and walked her over to new worlds.

He was serenity and double edged.

The lead off (Lolita) to capture the magic of this relationship introduces us nicely to this thoughtful and imaginative piece. The images of light and fire are moving and powerful; the paradox of serenity and sharp sword says it all.

A lovely write
