Why Am I Wrong?

Why Am I Wrong?

A Chapter by Azura

Why am I wrong

To love but another,

Another like me,

Is it really such a bother?

To pray to a world

To accept our fate,

And despite our kind,

Our love they will state.

Is it too much to ask

For her hand in mine

When only with her

Do I feel fine?

When I pray every night

And do what feels right,

Is it really deserving

Of such awful spite?

To see her smile

To be around me,

Can't you just let me

Roam happily?

They preach to love,

They preach not to lie,

So where will I go

When sentenced to die?

When one makes me happy

And another is false,

What about our joy

Makes you so repulsed?

We never have asked

You do the same,

So can't we be happy

Without retched fame?

What makes us so different

From all of you

Because a life without her

I cannot do?

Do I not feel pain

Nor happiness or fear?

Do I not feel joy

When my love is near?

So what have you all

By these prospects of shame,

Look to yourselves

For someone to blame.

For this wretched hate

Is miscarried at that.

Go back to your caves,

Love-blinded bats.
