A True Rainbow

Amongst the world

Of black and white

I am the rainbow

That leads in light.

 

I am the sun

That brightens your day,

That makes your pain

Go away.

 

I make you cry

In sight of me,

A glorious light

Made of beauty.

 

Oh they

Do not see

The dark clouds

Above me.

 

But you, my dear

Have seen all of me,

And have not judged

For my hypocrisy.

 

You've taken me in

And made me well

When I was hurt,

When I fell.

 

The first that made

My colors change,

A true rainbow

With feelings strange.

 

You're the first to see

Me turn to gray,

And the first to love me
