ApologiesA Chapter by AzuraBack when I was just a girl I made a few mistakes, You carried through and helped me up, Raised all-of life's stakes.
Don't worry dear, I will be true For my heart's as pure as gold. You have me now, you'll have me then Until I'm gray and old.
I know my words are nothing more Than myth and fancy sound, But all this time I've fallen so deep Like to your soul I have been bound.
If every time I wrote for you You'd fall that much deeper for me, I'd write for you a thousands words Just to let you see.
You mean the earth, you mean the sky, You mean the creatures and the sea Because without your warmth and very touch There would be nothing left for me.
A poet's words are all but rhyme To express out heart's every feel, To help us think things Through and through To know what's fake and real.
But for you, my dear, I'd write the world If only for a smile, And sing the words as never before To have you stay a little while.
It's not your body I long to touch, Though a caress might be nice- I wish only for your warmth and heart, For that will always suffice.
If I hurt you now or ever then May past or present be, Could you lok me in the eyes And still smile hap-pily?
Could you forgive me of my sin And then Say without a doubt That you and me will always be What you want our lives to be about?
I pray not ask what future holds For fear will keep me still, Should I say one foul and off you go, It makes my heart feel ill.
But could you forgive a hurtful thing When I know I had done wrong, Smile and me and say today To just keep moving along?
Perhaps I ask a silly thing And push things too far, But I'd rather leave things overdone Than give you harm and mental scars.
I know I'd done things wrong And upset you may be, But now or soon do you think one day You could really forgive me? © 2012 Azura |
