Tanel
awakes in the middle of the night, and he’s drenched in sweat. He takes a deep
breath in realization that it was just a horrible nightmare; his face smells of
sweat and tears as he rises to his feet. He abandons the comfort of his bed and
grabs a joint from his bedroom cabinet, and decides to go for an evening stroll
around the stale neighborhood. The evening is despondent, and its accomplice is
a dreadfully chilly breeze that creates an apprehensive atmosphere. The night
sky darkens as it shields the stars from the planets natural inhabitants;
crickets sing in desperation to get laid while Tanel lights his joint. Reefer
flows through the dreadful breeze as if were just passing by like everybody
else in his life. Tanel’s skin induces goose bumps and begins to numb, just
like his emotions. The nightmare wasn’t a nightmare at all; it was a memory of
his life. So alone and in love; Tanel ponders about the women in his life or
lack thereof. He’s not getting any younger but life always seems to repeat
itself; to never be wanted is to never be noticed at all. No matter how many of
his close friends tell him to be patient and “She’ll come around”, he’s not too
sure he believes it anymore; or anything for that matter. What once fulfilled
his life with joy and enlightenment has begun to deteriorate, like a full moon.
It once brought a smile to his face, but now it just reminds him of how alone
he really is. Perhaps the morning star will lift his hopeless spirit, but for
now he will wander through life being the genuine “nice guy”. We all know where
they end up. Tanel flicks the joint and crawls back into his comfy cot, hoping
for a better tomorrow.
Tanel wanders the night in loneliness, hoping it will fade as dawn breaks; but it does not; he smokes joints to forget his pain. He desperately wants a girlfriend, but it doesn't work out for him. His friends give him hope he will find one. Not a worthy night for Tanel, so he crawls back under the covers, hoping the next day will be ring him hope. Nice Write

PS please be patient, I don't get to stories very often.

Excellent. Very enjoyable, I followed Tanel on his late night trek and sensed his feelings of longing. Having experienced something similar many years ago, his shoes fit me well.
I love writing, and I need feedback. Please help yourselves and critique away. If it at the least entertains you, then I'll consider it a win.
