Monsters

Monsters

A Poem by Kaelee Wyant

I'm standing in the dark

I slowly close my eyes

The beasts they know I'm here

I hear their hungry cries

They circle all around me

They're full of fear and hate

I know deep down inside

That somehow it's my fate

So they start to creep in

They're tearing me apart

They only want my soul

They only want my heart

Now you know my story

The choice is up to you

Don't fall in their grasp

Or you'll become one too

this has a mental heath awareness vibe to it, and I dig it. The musicality is a tad choppy in a couple of lines, but dang is that finale killer! Well done!

I am here. I feel your pain, but can do nothing to stop it. Read kgam and find out how I feel.

"Or you'll become one too"... I loved that ending, it also gives way to so many interpretations, could it be real "monsters" or something/someone else? Great piece, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
