Into the Light

a revelation I was wrong.

all is forgiven, as I realize there was nothing to forgive
I put down the knife,
no need for that,
I can breath,
I can think,
once more, I am free.
thank you.

all is forgiven, you meant no wrong
I know that now,
I can let the wounds heal,
I have survived
once more, I can sleep
thank you.

all is forgiven, please forgive me
I never knew what I had,
until I beleived it gone
but you stayed
as I hurt you
you cut the chains,
you helped me to see myself
once more, I can love
thank you.

all is forgiven, I am content
You beat him back,
you, with all of your flaws,
youve showed me a better person,
youve shown me a better life,
once more, I can live
thank you

I know, as I emerge from the shadows
that this is not the end, I will face hardship,
I will face loss
I will face sorrow.
but I know, no matter how tattered and torn
you will be there,
if not in person then in spirit
I can sleep, knowing I will be ok.

you will never know how much you have done for me
but as I walk,
out of the darkness,
and into the light,
know that it is because of you
once more, I can hope.

it was very strange
