The Darkness

I have lost all hope.
No longer can I rely on you
To keep the Darkness at bay.

I've begun to wonder
If anyone is capable.

Yet there is still the
chance of being rescued.
 
The Darkness is all around.
I have lost sight
Of the light
Ever since you left.
The Darkness is all around.

There is no ray of light
Strong enough to reach me.
The Darkness is all around.
 
May I dare hope but...
 
I hear a voice in the darkness,
Slowly getting louder.
 
Can it be...?
 
It is not yours.
 
This warmth,
I have gone so long
Without it.
I did not recognize it.
 
...The voice is closer now...
 
I look up and through the glare,
I see the silhouette of a hand.
As I slowly take it,
I am bathed in sudden warmth.
 
The light has returned
To my world.
 
No longer must I
Blindly move forward.
This light will be my guide
And I will not lose it.

I can feel it lurking there
Just on the edges of the light,

Waiting...

The Darkness is still all around.
 
I should have known she could
Only keep it at bay for so long.
The Darkness, creeping ever closer.

Without you, the Darkness will
Always return.

I'm not the best at writing but when something comes to mind I just put on paper. Any comments about how I should fix my writing style would be appreciated.
