Why Do You Like Pop Music?

Now that I told you what my favorite type of music is, which is rock, I am going to bring you another musical topic today. Why I like pop music. Well, the first reason is: I grew up listening to pop music. Ever since I was little, I was more familiar with pop music than any other genre of music. Growing up, I listened to artists such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Justin Timberlake. That's what I was used to. Wait though... Wasn't Taylor Swift a country singer one time? To answer your question, Yes she was. She switched from country to pop. Even though pop music was what I was used to, I loved Taylor Swift's country albums as well as her pop albums. Okay, we're kind of getting off track here. Back to the main topic. Second reason why I like pop music is: There are some good songs in the genre. Don't get me wrong, not all the songs in the genre are about love and romance. Let's just say I went a little overboard about that in the writing about rock. There are songs about empowerment, relationships, and other topics. When I get tired of the whole "Relationships and breakups" cliche, I like listening to songs that are empowering. Songs like Better When I'm Dancing by Meghan Trainor, Start All Over by Miley Cyrus, 22 by Taylor Swift, and Work Of Art by Demi Lovato (just to name a few) are my main jams when it comes to pop music. Besides songs that are empowering, I love pop songs I can literally have a dance party with. Songs like Good Life by One Republic, Live While We're Young by One Direction, Cake By the Ocean by DNCE, and Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake (and many more) are songs I can have a nonstop dance party with. Honestly, that leads me to my third reason why I like pop music. Like other genres of music, there are a lot of songs to choose from. Sometimes I do choose to play a song on repeat, but I mostly love having a variety of songs to listen to. One moment I can be listening to song about love (Such as Push Up On Me by Rihanna), and then I could be listening to an empowering song (such as Who Says by Selena Gomez) the next. I also love how there are many artists to choose from. Honestly, listening to songs from only one artist over and over again can get a little boring for me. So, I like to shake things up by listening to many pop artists. I mostly listen to artists like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Derulo. However, I do like mixing it up by adding some Britney Spears, Rihanna, Meghan Trainor, and many more artists to my playlist. It's just so awesome how fast a music playlist can get interesting. Even though I don't really care for songs by Madonna, Imagine Dragons, or Camila Cabello... I like adding them to my playlist anyway because it just helps make the music playlist a little more fresh. Madonna's songs Luchy Star, and Holiday are always going to be favorites by her. Even though I don't care for songs by Camila Cabello, her song Never Be The Same will always be in my top jams. I like that song for many reasons. Now, on to Imagine Dragons. I don't really care for any of their songs. Their songs Thunder and Believer got my attention at first, but never really caught on to be in my jams. Yes I add some of their songs to my music mix once in a while, but that is only because I like to keep things fresh with my music mix. Well, those are my top 3 reasons why I like pop music. I don't like the genre as much as I used to, but I do like listening to it when it pops up in my music playlist.
