Hidden Behind A Veil of Lies

We're all hiding our true selves - simple as that.

Hidden behind a veil of lies,

Holding back, my fading disguise;

Why do you think I fled from you,

But to see the world in more shades than blue?

Face-down I cried,

From my broken pride;

My broken soul and broken heart,

Are ripping me apart.

Longing to release these fears,

I felt the salty sting of tears;

Pray, release me from this tortured night,

Pray, release me from my wounded plight.

Save me from this broken facade,

From this tarnished path I trod,

Upset as I am, I am alone,

Upset as I am, I am...

Alone.

Author's Note

The concept of loneliness is common in my works :/ simply because I believe we are all alone, in one way or another. Another thing I write about a lot is depression - I'm not saying I'm depressed, I just feel depressed a lot. But without depression, I don't have inspiration to write.
