Up The Stellar Stair

Up The Stellar Stair

A Poem by Azariek
"

Why do people have to hurt?

"

I climbed upon a stellar stair,

The starlight dazzled with amazing flair.

Towards the twilit welkin sway,

I climbed that gold companionway.

I left the harsher world below,

As I was bathed in a heavenly glow.

Silver wings enfolded me,

And set my wounded soul free.

I turned and looked, one last time,

At the world I left for this world sublime,

And pity I felt, for the ones left stranded,

In a world where war only expanded.

My eyes were sad, my mind was mad,

At how the heart could be so bad!

Why do people have to hurt,

When all of us are equal at birth?

And so I stand; untouched, alone,

Waiting for them to step off their throne,

For down below, on war-torn earth,

We are all equal...according to birth.

Yeah, I know this one's all over the place. I dunno, I kind of like it. Gives it charm, I think. Anyways. Ciao! ^w^

I like it a lot. The message is clear, at least to me for sure. However, I think the correct usage of the last line is the fourth stanza should have been "When all of us are equal at birth."
