Tears I cried

Tears I cried

A Poem by Ayanda Mteto
"

The language of tears is a river, opened flood that drown.

"

Standing ashores

Many tears I cried,

I was a child, you never understood my pain

Though you held me in your arms

I felt your bosom

It was cold like a winter’s embrace

You were there, but not really there

Just your shadow I dance the night

Full of bitterness and misery

You never notice my pain, perhaps it was my fake smile

That made you believe everything was ok

Love was love; it was just your eyes that were blind

You did not see, the love I gave

The treasures I opened for your heart to share

And my soul to dine fruits my heart bare

Your love was not there

Just an empty heart,

Hollow,

Empty

Just like the midst of air around.
