Simple life of ChildA Poem by Ayanda MtetoI remember as child, life was easy Teaching only A, B, C Appreciating the best that came, Toys I played ‘till my feet were as brown like the ground Restless in my imagination, full with adventures Pirates that search for treasure, Sailing the angry sea, one eye patched Bevy beard covering the face, with a grin showing stained teeth Gold as the treasure, the X we seek, I played until the sun was swallowed by the sea Not troubled about the world, Serving dinner cold, to the hungry mouths without kitchen to warm Without dreams, to dream Died in the morning as they went to work Tireless labours, busy bees working for money, not honey Lost the sweetness to life, A grown up child without ambition to life Without fun and joy that fly a spirit aloft. © 2012 Ayanda MtetoReviews
