Let me in

Let me in

A Poem by Ayanda Mteto
"

When we met; you did not know me.

"

Today I wish to rest in your heart,

Let me in as knock,

I am a stranger Samaritan yearning your compassion

Let me in, and flow my river to your ocean

With thoughts I sink deep within,

Let me in, inside your bosom

To share your secrets

I promise I will keep them safe with me,

Let me in, inside your walls; open your gates as I knock,

Knocked to your love that deserves a prince

Let me charm you with gold of my heart,

The diamond shine of my eyes, let me in as I invite my soul,

Complete my heart, for it is hollow in the sphere of its emptiness

Let me in, to your heart and lie in your emotions laid abed

Let me in…Knock-knock, are you there? Please let me in,

To your heart, your mind and your soul.

Your sentiments are so lyrical. I wish I could read four dozen more poems just like this one.

I could feel the emotions of love in this and the metaphors are captivating. The structure needs a little work. Keep writing, poetry like good whiskey gets better everytime you open it up.
