In the NightA Poem by Nazereth
His eyes bright as fireflies
Half-lidded and glinting So sweet, I cannot deny I cannot fight how fast I'm sinking Soft lips, soft touch, soft tips Breath hot and deep in my ear The world fades and memories mist Too overwhelmed for me to hear Oh! And his voice is a god and Oh! What a beautiful sound My vision swims when he takes my hand Presses it to his chest, soft as down And oh! His voice sings Oh, how fine! He raises himself on graceful legs Kisses intoxicating as olden wine He lays me down gently on the softened grass The stars sparkle but his eyes glitter more Caresses and I tremble, as the fingers pass Until I'm his to my core The moon overhead shines so bright Shining off his hair, there's a halo of silver My own lovely angel, so beautiful a sight The world stills and only will whisper And we dance, too joyful for lovemaking, too gentle for sex His voice echoes in the glade, and in my mind We hold and laugh and love but no rest For there's never been a nighttime so fine. © 2011 NazerethReviews
