A game of Death

A game of Death

A Poem by Lola Nad
"

This is a poem I made with the sole purpose of protest against a cruel and twisted version of an act called "game". I hope that with it, some people will realize and help to forbid it.

"
Howling to the moon in the middle of the night
A song, a lonely Cry.
A matted fur, a battered eye.
A song of Pain, of Fear, of Hate
Tail hanging low, such Tiredness.
Uneven traces in the snow
Deep in the night she Cries alone.
Shouts not so far, an acid smell
Fear in her eye, she starts again.
Nowhere to hide, no time to rest,
Running away,leaving more traces.
A trail of Blood, Red on the snow,
More shouts behind, they're getting close.
The forest ends, the moon still glows
Fight for her Life, she can't no more.
She-Wolf looks up, up at the sky
Howling her song, the moon shines bright.
Eyes full of Fear, they're getting close,
Bringing with them, this acrid smell.
A loud thunder, a Bullet flies
A yelp of Pain, it found her side.
As She-Wolf Cries, laugh fills the night
More noise more Guns, more Blood flows out.
Dead just for fun, Dead for a game,
High in the sky, the moon glows Red
Shot by Hunter, She-Wolf Died in Vain.

Your meaning is crystal clear. Sometimes we as humans are the beast of nature and killing another living creature just for fun fills me with so much anger I would like to hunt those who partake in this. Hunting for food is alright, use everything do not let a piece go to waste. I will stand with you against this Black Rose.

It was wonderfully writing and I could see the story in my minds eye so clearly.
Thank you for sharing

This is a devastating topic - just knowing this goes on as a game! Man has no regard for life (I don't mean "all of mankind - but the ones involved in this) it's sickening - thanks for bringing awareness to us all. You did a great job stirring up the right emotions!

Wow, this was definitely a lot to take in! But, the message and writing is clear and your symbolism is spot on. You tell such an elaborate story within such few words, I forgot I was reading a poem. Very good work!

Great poem. Your message is powerfully conveyed by narrating the emotional experience of the hunted.

A very sad ending to the poem.
"Dead just for fun, Dead for a game,
High in the sky, the moon glows Red
Shot by Hunter, She-Wolf Died in Vain."
The wild beast need little and we take everything from them. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Intense and stunning choice of words, to create a really strong imagery. I've never been much of an activist against these acts, but going through this piece...you can't help but feel pity for She-wolf and the opposite for her hunters. Good work...sometimes that one voice is enough to start the change process.

Little is an understatement..
I appreciate you writing a poem against the hunting of wolves as I am an avid believer in their protection myself. Their was a vote for more laws protecting them a few years back that I participated in when I still lived in MI. Nicely made point. Just a few minor errors, I believe you meant to say sole purpose...and in the fourth stanza perhaps you mean she can no more as can't no more is a double negative.
