Hey you...! This is a lovely poem for sure. The first and second stanza live in harmony as one, like the "naked innocence (of youth) convalescing"and the "blood red skies" within their Soul. Beautiful metaphor here, intended or not. When I first moved to the country, I scampered around my wooded property naked and barefoot until I realized I was being voraciously consumed by fleas, ticks and chiggers. Those days are over for me unless I miraculously land on a hidden beachfront by the Sea.......! Wonderful and refreshing images here and well worth the read. Missed you too Awdures.
Funny, I was listening to the radio on my way to work and Robbie Williams' 'Let Me Entertain You' came on. Not a huge Robbie fan despite having seen him with the rest of the boys in the Millennium Stadium two nights ago, but this lyric jumped out at me 'the dew is wet but the grass is sweet my dear' and I thought - man I haven't done that in a while, walked barefoot in the wet grass. And then I read this and it really stilled me. This is contented perfection distilled on the page hun, truly lovely.

Bare feet allow us to feel freedom in the walk upon soft grass or into the coolness of water. I like the feel and happiness in your words in the poem. Need many days when the shoes are gone and a lot of free time to wander. Thank you for a outstanding poem.
