Regret

Regret

A Poem by Awdures
"

Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't

"

it’s after dark, and wondering souls

devour the longing aching flesh

whose only sin was to refresh

and covet half from what was whole,

these shadows creep in shades of khol

and in depravity they thresh

your skin, a binding bleeding mesh

in agony you writhe and roll

the carnal kiss upon your lips

no longer tastes of honeyed dew

but bitter life force, purges pure

in crimson on your fingertips

regret is easy when you view

your life in hues of insecure
