Tango

Tango

A Poem by Awdures
"

Live, laugh, learn

"
Soncopation burns in my feet
Anticipation of the latin beat.

Your cheek smooth and warm resting on mine
Your hand pressing lightly at the base of my spine.

My foot raises slowly our hips start to sway
All other couples now melt away.

My heart screams allegro, as our fingertips touch
In unison moving, I'm held in your clutch.

Crimson hem flying, as our legs intertwine,
The heat of my eyes on you claim you as mine.

You trace down my jawline, and seal with a kiss
a passionate Tango, irreverant bliss.

A sensual musical performance...you got some nice dance moves :P
I am a fan of rhyming couplets and I have 2 poems made up of a series of rhyming couplets myself, though with a dark tone.
I'm not a dancer, but this is making me think twice about picking it up thanks to you; you've described it beautifully.

Nicely done :)

No wonder you're reading into other writing ;-)

As usual I'm intrigued by one line
"The heat of my eyes on you claim you as mine."
Oh! That's what makes this line so unstable... The verb is conjugated for the wrong subject: it should be "claims" because the subject of the verb is "heat" not "eyes". So I keep stumbling over "you claim you". So you could either make it clearer by perhaps removing one of the "you", or you could embrace the confusion of "you claim you as mine" as part but not part of "the heat of my eyes on you".

This poem really did impress me. The rhymes really do support the poem giving it a remarkable flow. I simply adore the last stanza it has given me a idea for my next poem. This poem is a very good inspiration and I love it. I will always remember this poem and when I need some inspiration I will come back to it. Brilliant job of using such long words with big meanings such as "Anticipation" it really did amaze me

Awesome! Need I say more? The perfect description of the perfect tango.

I'm just not sure about "sonchopation". Is there such a word? Or should it be "syncopation"?
