Prayer from the Darkness

Prayer from the Darkness

A Poem by Twilight

Why must the light avoid me

As if I were demonic?

Could I not receive the blessing

I have waited for so long?

But a simple step forward

Would be the greatest gift.

However, I am chained;

Forbidden to act, forbidden to speak

Only allowed to watch in torment

As she lives her life and I live mine

Knowing the two won’t intertwine.

If Fate hates me as It makes it seem,

The light shall never reach me.

Oh merciful heavens,

Shatter these chains

That bind me to the Earth!

Let me fly free

So I may somehow live life by her side!

She is an Angel, and I the sinner

She is pristine, and I don’t deserve her

But does passion warrant nothing?

Can’t it clear me of my sins?

Please, give me but one chance,

One chance to show her

That I love her and no one else,

That my life is nothing at all

Without her as a part of it.

No, not a part, but the whole of my being

Just please, just one chance!

I like the way that the words seem to flow from one to another. The theme is a bit uverused but i cant really blame anyone for that. Great write though. good job
